a postcard from the everglades....

We drove Alligator Alley yesterday...

...but never saw much action from the highway.
All was quiet and serene!

Apparently one must leave the car behind to really experience this untamed wilderness.
Maybe another time.

  3. Definitely seems a good decision to keep the pedal to the metal in Alligator Alley.

  5. Just keep your arms in the car - no dangling out the window in alligator alley!

  6. Hope you are seeing better weather than we are having at home. Enjoy!

  7. My husband tells me you can always find an alligator on the golf courses in Florida, if you really want to see one. Better take a Big Bertha with you though!

  8. I hope you enjoy the ride through the Keys! I marveled over the bright blue color of the water and skies.

  9. Did ya think to toss chicken parts out the window along the way? I hear the gators step right up to gobble down raw chicken. Don't know how they feel about Mennonite style cooked chicken though. I think gators kinda like their chicken Cajun style best.

  11. Oh sure the locals tell the tourists to leave their car...so that the locals have some fresh entertainment and maybe even some exciting evening news..."Canadian Tourists eaten by Alligator" film at 11.

  12. We drove alligator alley in the night and that was just a bit disconcerting. It is a somewhat eerie drive.
