  3. Isn't that gorgeous?! Of Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte fame, too. I thought it looked familiar so Googled. Secretly, I was hoping for Gone With the Wind, but the former's not so bad.

  4. Ah the memories of flirting with Bernie as we strolled through the trees on a foggy cold December day. Sigh...it is such a romantic place.

  6. My daughter and I toured Oak Alley about 5 years ago, along with two other plantations. It was so enjoyable! I hope you were able to have lunch at one of them.. Louisiana cooking is so delicious!

  10. I have a sudden urge to say "Y'all" whilst wearing a hoop skirt. Hey, while y'all are down south, have you watched "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" ?

  17. Vee- Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte was filmed at Houmas House Plantation just upriver from Oak Alley. In fact, they have a room called the Bette Davis room and it's where she slept while filming the movie.
