something old...something new...something borrowed

Something green.

Eric and Tara Lynn...
my nephew and his bride...
were married last Thursday at a lovely venue overlooking the lake in the Okanagan Valley...
with their nearest and dearest as their witnesses.
I hear it was most beautiful!

On Saturday...
there was a reception for them here in our neighbourhood.
Family and friends came out to help them celebrate their new beginnings...
as husband and wife.

The venue happens to be just down the road from 'my front porch'.
In days gone by...I would frequent the location to purchase bedding plants.
On Saturday...
the greenhouse became a wedding reception hall.

And a lovely one it was!
I'm guessing the transformation took many hours of labour...
and a little creative genius.

It was a fun and casual evening...
and gave us all an opportunity to pass along our best wishes to newlyweds.

And that, my friends...
was the greenhouse tour you were promised for today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  1. What a beautiful location and set-up for a wedding reception. So nice and informal yet elegant too. A beautiful couple.

  2. What a lovely transformation from green house to wedding beautiful! Blessings on them!

  3. Oh my! Someone really pulled that together in the most amazing way. Just lovely! All the best to the newlyweds...a great-looking couple!

  4. That really was a great transformation to make it a lovely celebration space. A very handsome couple!!

  5. That looked like just the sort of party we'd all like to be invited to! What a handsome couple!

  6. What a wonderful idea to host the reception there! It looked so summery and cool. Best wishes to the new couple!

  7. You know how much I like seeing wedding reception venues. Thank you for sharing this creative, beautifully done reception. I like the lanterns hanging from the ceiling. What a good looking couple! I wish them the best in their lives together.

  8. A greenhouse is a perfect place for a wedding reception - a new phase of life beginning in a place where plants are begun. It's just beautiful!

  9. Somehow I was expecting something a bit different...but it sure became exquisite...Maybe you can take me past that place on our bike tour.
She looks like a beautiful bride...Where did he find her?
    A beautiful young couple.
May God continue to bless them both.

  10. How lovely, Judy!

I love to see unique places used for weddings and receptions!

They are a very nice looking couple...

  11. What a great idea. There are no lack of greenhouses ..and with our area always needing the back up tent. .it's already covered.
I can imagine the floor must have had a good sweeping.

  12. What a perfect reception, and what beautiful decorations. A greenhouse is obviously going to be the 'in' place for receptions!

  13. That is one beautiful greenhouse! Nice transformation and cute couple.

  14. The colors are wonderful, green and purple. I love the hydrangea table flowers. Congratulations to the happy couple.
