seeing clearly...

There are times when we can't make a whole lot of sense of things that happen around us. With the passing of time...things sometimes become a little clearer....and sometimes not. But one day we will see the whole picture...and everything will be crystal clear. For now...we look through the smog.

I took this photo on a Sunday morning walk a few weeks ago...as the smoke from one of B.C.'s largest forest fires wafted our way...and combined with the smog which settles in with our hot summer weather. Have you any idea what colour that barn might be...or how near the peak of Mt. Cheam is?

Here's another photo...taken on an early morning walk at the very same spot...a few months earlier. Now I see it clearly...the barn is red! And the snow capped peak of Mt. Cheam is so close...I can almost touch it.

Sometimes it is a matter of perspective...sometimes it is the passing of time...and then there are those things that will just never make any sense...here on earth. But one day...the smog will all be lifted!

Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will have complete knowledge as God has complete knowledge of me.

  1. Waiting for the day when the mists clear... Thanks for this reminder.

Gosh that illustration was so good...one would have zero idea that that barn was a bright red in the first picture. Perspective...and it's all His perspective and never our own.

  2. So true! Perspective in this life and throughout our days, often is clouded. This is such a great illustration. One that I will not forget for a long time. Thank you for sharing what God laid on your heart through. It has been a help to me today.

  3. What a wonderful thought piece for today. I wish I could get one particular grand daughter to understand this idea right now. But, I know in His time. Sometimes it is hard to wait for His time. We can peacefully wait, or chaotically wait. It is our choice. Blessings

  4. Judy, this is so very true. We just have to let our faith carry us through those times we can't see clearly.

That gorgeous little Maelyn looks beautiful in her pretty new outfit.

  5. Well this is the second time today I have heard an encouraging word on perspective. I think somebody up there might be trying to tell me something :) Thanks for sharing this Judy

  6. A timely reminder, Judy, as I have been struggling with some "smog" issue myself this summer regarding my elderly Mom's care. Hopefully the right answer will come to me with some clarity soon.
