bluebonnets and lone stars...

Where have I been? Why...I've been touring one tiny corner of America's largest state. I may not have been there for long...or covered even a fraction of it's vast expanse...but there was no question about where I was.

We arrived at the perfect time to see the official flower of Texas blooming in all it's glory...

...the bluebonnet adorned roadsides, pastures and gardens. The Texas flag flies at every corner...

...and the lone star adorns everything from homes to vehicles.

We saw Texas longhorn...

...buffalo

...and cowboys young and old.

And did I mention oil wells?

We knew without a shadow of a doubt that we were in Texas!

From Texas we set sail...

...and spent one glorious week at a family reunion on a floating resort.

That's it for today...but you all come back (as they say in Texas) and I'll tell you all about it.

Have a great day!

  6. Fantastic little view into the Texas state. Jill will no doubt feel quite at home. .if she pops by. You only needed to go lay in thost bluebonnets to have your picture taken. .that would have been perfect.

  8. A big part of my heart is in Texas since our daughter lives there. I am thrilled to see all of your pictures of Texas. I wish I could see the bluebonnets blooming. I live with a cowboy at heart, so I liked the cowboy picture that you shared. He claims that someday we will live in Colorado or Texas...but for now he has his boots and his hat.

  9. You had quite a tour there of one corner of Texas! Last year it was Jill showing us the famous bluebonnets; who dreamed that one year later it would be one of our Canadian blogger friends!

Enjoy your cruise...it sounds just wonderful.

  14. Hi Judy,
Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I've always wanted to visit Texas. Any state with Beth Moore AND Tony Evans is a special place!

Thanks for your visit and kind comments at my place today. I had to giggle about your "apron envy" comment! (I totally understand that by the way!)

    Blessings,
    Tracy
