cousins

'A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.'

We had cousins in the valley over the weekend...
(nieces and nephews of mine)
some from Manitoba...
some from Alberta.

And so we gathered the clan on Friday night...
and had a cousin reunion.

We had a fabulous potluck in my sister and BIL's back yard...
it was just a nice evening for a 'cousin get together'.

Unfortunately...the American cousins...the Australian cousins...
and a few others missed out.

Several cousins from the next generation got in the big picture as well...
some were too busy playing.

Cousins are a good thing!

'Cousin to cousin we'll always be,
Special friends from the same family tree.'

  2. Wonderful post - perfect quotes. Just spent a few hours with one of my cousins, to enjoy some reminiscing of our childhood - as well as a family reunion where several of the cousins of the next gen were together, along with us old folks! Wonderful times, glorious memories!

  3. That is a lovely post. Judy. I can't remember if I can by but I had to change my addy and I would like to invite you to come follow my new one, if you choose. I am working so hard to find all my favorites and I do want yours on my list. I am the oldest of all the cousins and many younger than myself have already passed away. Some of us get together once a year. Blessings to you.

  4. I don't get to see my cousins very often, and it's usually one at a time - there are 54 of us first cousins. My children have just six, but they see them a lot. It's great to document the get-together - why am I not surprised that you were the one to do that?!

  5. I've never actually counted how many cousins I have .. .quite a few. I wonder sometimes about how I so rarely see mine now and hope that our grands .. .always find each other from time to time.

  7. As one of 56 first cousins, I treasure the memories of playing together during family gatherings. Several are still very present in my life and many others I connect with at major events.
That quote is oh, so true - it's my childhood that I remember when I think of my cousins.

  8. Wonderful photo Judy!!

My kids were lucky to grow up with a lot of cousins. Now the families are scattering all over ther country, as happens with time. The internet has done a lot of help them stay in touch.

  10. How wonderful to have all of those cousins together.
I have a lot of cousins, but we rarely see each other as we're scattered all over the country. Kinda sad.

  12. The older I get, the more I come to appreciate the great blessing of being part of a big family. What a good looking group of people that you call cousins. So much fun for me to look at this picture.

  15. Cousins are special. It's great to see how you can round them all up and throw on a pot luck. It always takes some cousins to initiative and find a big yard and invite with one big Heart!
