everyday pleasures...

Happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur every day than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.
Benjamen Franklin.

Here's a few everyday things that make me smile...

The grands always have a way of making me smile.

Whether emptying the fountain...

..or flipping their way across the lawn...
one can't help but smile.

A hummingbird posing for just a second...
a pleasure one cannot buy.

those who supplied the peaches...
and those who came for dinner last night...
and had peach pie with us.

Enjoy your day...
and take pleasure in the little things!

  1. Hi Judy, what a beautiful post today. All of the photos bring joy to me especially the ones of the grands. That looks like a humdinger of a peach pie. So nice to visit.

  2. Lovely photo's, thanks for sharing...that pie looks amazing!

  3. Point well taken. I have a feeling that I'll be getting a lot of this today. I'm three posts in to my blogroll and I'm already sensing a theme. Simple pleasures really are the best ones.

  4. Great quote and great encouragement Judy! Now pass me a piece of that good looking pie!!

  5. Your post today reflects, in a way, what Elizabethd has written. Good thoughts!

  6. Thanks for sharing the pleasure - good reminder that it's the everyday that makes our lives so wonderful!

  7. So true Judy...we need to spend time just 'being' and enjoying the smiley moments.

  8. Judy, you and your hubby bring the glue and stability into the lives of your kids even when they are grown. It's fun to see your family function - You are great at akk you do. Awesome woman!!

  9. That quote makes a lot of sense! And wouldn't we rather have it that way?
I had to smile that, without knowing it, we had pictures taken with our six grands in much the same way at around the same time . . . except we didnt have any cows to look at.

  10. Sweet photos of moments to treasure. Peach pie - yum!

  11. Beautiful post! I enjoyed a day with my grands....what a joy to have children in our lives! Your granddaughter's summer sault is priceless!!!!

  12. A fun grandma, who likes photography and can create a pie like the one pictured wins a blue ribbon in my book. Can you imagine what it is like to be sitting here with my early morning cup of coffee and looking at your beautifully created, delicious looking peach pie?

I like the message you shared on this post. A reminder I want to heed at this time in my life.

  13. We are blessed grandma's to have those little smile makers in our lives!
