We brought our family here when they were wee...and not quite so wee...but who would have thought that we would one day return with the grandchildren?
How fun is that?
A few of our favorite attractions from yesteryear are gone...(does anyone remember Bear Country Jamboree?)...but some things have hardly changed at all.
'It's a Small World' is every bit as enchanting for children today as it was long ago. It was so good to watch the kids enjoying themselves.
They met Goofy...who welcomed them to Toon Town...and had a chance to tour Mickey's house.
He made them feel right at home...although Ryder still had his reservations!
They did time in the Toon Town jail...and found it quite enjoyable. All in all...the line-ups were not bad and we packed a lot into a one-day visit. As the sun set, the crowds grew...it happened to be a Friday and many locals came for the evening.
It's a great place for kids...of all ages! And if you go...be prepared to find yourself singing "It's a Small World After All" for some time.
We plan to take Arianna to Disney World next summer. I'm sure we'll find it hard if not impossible to leave her parents behind!
ReplyDeleteLove the family pics...

I have enjoyed sitting here with my cup of coffee getting caught up on your fabulous travels. It looks like a wonderful trip and how nice that most of your family could join you. How exciting that there is a new grandchild on the way too.
ReplyDeleteOh I share in your joy and fun there. We went many years ago also, and I am sure things have changed. I will never forget my feelings as we watched the daily parade. I cried like a baby, I never thought we would ever be able to be there. But once I finished nursing school we were able to afford those kinds of things. Your family is beautiful. Blessings

The expression on the little faces says it all - sheer delight!
ReplyDeleteI hope that song won't be stuck in my head all day - just reading the title got me started....It's a small world after all........
Thanks for sharing a little Disney. My family are huge Disney fans and we try to go once a year. We have never been during Halloween, but I always LOVE to see everyones Pumpkin Mickey pictures.
ReplyDeleteJudy, I didn't even have to go and the song is in my head .. amazing.
ReplyDeleteDid you take advantage of the photo op deal? Our kids and had all the pictures on a disc waiting for them at the end of the day.
It looks like you had a fantastic time. I wonder when the best time would be to go .. now in a year or two or wait until some are in elementary school .. or both.
It's so much fun to take little ones to Disneyland and enjoy it with them. I do remember Country Bear Jamboree!
ReplyDeleteI've been to Disneyworld not Disneyland - and I remember Bear Country Jamboree :) I hope to return someday with grandkiddies in tow. Looks like you had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI remember going to Dizzy-land as a child when it was still surrounded by orange groves and the Matterhorn could be seen from miles away.
ReplyDeleteWe've probably visited it every couple of years...until one year we went to Knott's Berry Farm, and our kids actually preferred that place! (It helped that they produced a play that my then fifth grade son wrote...) but we haven't been back to D-land since the early 1990's. A grandchild will undoubtably make the trip worth taking again.
PS: Best kept SoCal secret: D-Land on Halloween day is the best day to visit...no crowds!
Great photo's looks like you had a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outing! I've never been to the CA Disneyland, only to to the Florida Disneyworld.
ReplyDeletePerhaps someday we'll be able to take our grandson to see the California Disney? It's always so nice to see it through a child's eyes.
Looks like a great family time.
ReplyDeleteI must be one of the few people who have never been to either Disneyland or Disney World .
'It's a small world after all'..hummed it through your post! It is catchy! And that will be the song of the day I'm sure..grin
ReplyDeleteMany years ago we took our children to Disneyworld and then later took them again with the g'children. We had so much fun.
I do remember the 'bear jamboree'..our g'kids got a kick out of them!
We took our son and grandson a few years ago, and we had such a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWe lived only three hours from Disney World for many years, but this was the first time we had returned since we moved from Florida.
I do remember Country Bear Jamboree. It is a favorite of mine.
Enjoying all your great family photos Judy. Ah yes, I can remember our times spent at Disneyland too! Such a magical place!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your broken tree, hope you find one to replace it.
