There's nothing quite like the sweet scent of Miss Kim dwarf lilac! When all the other lilacs are finished blooming...Miss Kim puts on a show.
We purposely planted our little lilac near our bedroom window...thinking we might just catch a whiff now and again. Miss Kim has had to give up many of her blooms...so I could spread the fragrance around the house just little!
We also enjoyed some sweet sounds this weekend...as we drove to the big city on Saturday night to take in the Il Divo concert. It had been a busy week...and the concert was the perfect way to relax at the end of it. Classic songs...performed by a Euro-American quartet...accompanied by a wonderful orchestra...for an audience of enthusiastic Canadians made for a most enjoyable evening. They tried to leave the stage...but we all knew they'd be back...and when they were, they left us with this most moving rendition of Amazing Grace. If you can't see them in concert...check out their latest album...The Promise...and enjoy some wonderful sounds!
Sunday was a day of rest...of enjoying nature (early morning hike)...of worshipping with other believers...of visiting with family and friends...and did I mention snoozing on the back lawn in the afternoon? It was all good! And in case anyone noticed that all was silent at 'my front porch' on Sunday...our internet provider also took a lengthy break over the weekend.
Sometimes those enforced 'breaks' are a very good thing. It sounds like your weekend was perfect. I'd heard about the Il Divo concert and though of going, but knew I'd be studying (and procrastinating!) all weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a lilac outside the bedroom window. Heavenly perfume!
Judy .. what a spectacular weekend eh? It almost makes me feel sorry for folks that chose this time of year to go abroad .. .
ReplyDeleteOur Sunday was so relaxing too . ..we didn't even hike .. .early. .
Oh. . and about the lilac .. so funny .. I have a lilac that we adopted. . and I was going to ask tomorrow what it was called. So . .now I know.. .pictures will still be posted . .now with the name.
I was enjoying the scent of our lilac yesterday as I was sitting on a chair close by and reading. Oh, and we were at the concert too!
ReplyDeleteI have since found out about friends being there . . . too bad we didn't know.
Absolutely love Il Divo. If I ever get the opp. I will hear them. I would like some of those lilacs. My regular lilac blooms are already gone. Bless your week.

Thanks for the link to hear Amazing Grace by Il Divo. I wasn't aware of them but now I'll look for them.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time in the last week that I read about Miss Kim lilacs. I never heard of them before. I am definitely checking them out at the nursery. I like the way they look and I know I would love their aroma. I am also anxious the hear the music of the group you went to hear. Judy, I learn so much from you.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I have a few Il Divo CD's -- they sing beautful harmony and Amazing Grace is one of my favorite songs. It was a very busy weekend for me with very little computer time. Will I ever catch up? LOL!
