still smiling...

I have no idea what these birds were so excited about yesterday...

...but I had my own reasons to 'leap for joy'! I had a wonderful day from beginning to end...filled with good things, good wishes, and family and friends who stopped by. At the end of the day, I enjoyed a dinner out at one of my favorite spots...in great company.

And before we left for home...I had my cake and ate it too! Now this wasn't just any old cake...think layers of light and fluffy cake with cream filling, garnished with toasted almonds, chocolate curls and strawberries.

Not only did I eat the cake...but when all was said and done, I took home the plate...a pedestal cake plate with hand-painted dome cover. How special is that?

Yes...I am blessed with the best friends and family! Thank-you one and all for being a part of my life...in the good times and the bad.

Another reason for 'rejoicing' is that Jeremy is doing much better. I'm not sure if he has talked any of the 'powers that be' into agreeing with him...but I know he is wanting to come home from the hospital today. We'll see what the day brings!

Have a terrific Tuesday...

  1. I'm so glad that you had a delightful day from beginning to end...no reason not to have another today!

May Jeremy bust out just as soon as "the power that is" wants him to.

  2. Praise the Lord, that is wonderful news. I'm so glad to hear that he is doing better.....and that you had such a good day too.

  3. It's been so much fun being part of your life and sharing exciting moments together...
Now, let's share that cake recipe.

  4. Glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday Judy! Congratulations again. That cake looks scrumptious!

Good to hear Jeremy continues to improve. Tell him not to rush things and rest!

  5. So glad to hear that Jeremy's much improved! And it's wonderful to see sunshine over the water the birds are playing in! One's birthday, especially in January, is better on a sunny day! Enjoy the coming five weeks while you are almost caught up to me :)

  6. Wonderful cake, wonderful news, wonderful birthday for a wonderful friend.

  7. Loving family and friends, good dinner, divine cake and flowers. What more could a girl need to make her day?

A healthy son, that's what. Fantastic news!!!

  8. Oh Judy...I am so happy you had a wonderful day...you deserve it. And the news about Jeremy...terrific!

  9. Great news that your Jeremy continues to mend!
That cake.......not fair to share only a cyber bite - I'll have to dig into my stash of chocolate covered licorice to assuage my sweet tooth! I'm glad to read that you had such a lovely day.

  10. Judy. . .I love your title of the post. . .so often I smile as I write, and isn't that what us bloggers so often have in common? We love sharing our blessings and our everyday lives. . .it makes us smile and we enjoying making others smile as well.
I rejoice with you on Jeremys continued improvemnt.

  11. What a very special birthday you have had. You are obviously a much loved woman. Great news to hear your son is doing better.

  12. Happy Birthday Judy. May you continue to brighten the lives of your family and friends for a long time.
